WWE Superstar Montez Ford Drops New Album!

This one right here is a fun one 🙂 I love it when my interests intersect with each other. For this one, we are combining my recent jump back into WWE with my love of music. One of my favorite young wrestlers, Montez Ford, of the Street Profits, has released a new album called ‘God is Good’. And to be honest, I am always a little hesitant when people outside of music drop projects, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one.

Who is Montez Ford?

Montez Ford was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in North Carolina. He was a track star in high school, before enlisting into the Marine Corps, where he continued to show incredible athleticism. He was first recruited into the WWE Performance Center in 2015. Montez would later join fellow wrestler, Angelo Dawkins, to form the tag team The Street Profits.

The Street Profits excelled in NXT and on the independent circuit, which yielded a five-month reign as EVOLVE Tag Team Champions and, at TakeOver: XXV, captured the NXT Tag Team Titles in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match. Becoming a part of Raw, Dawkins and Ford continued their dominance, competing in some thrilling bouts with some of the red brand’s top tandems. They would be drafted to SmackDown in 2020 and become SmackDown Tag Team Champions at Survivor Series, winning against The New Day. Now back on SmackDown after the 2023 WWE Draft, The Street Profits have aligned themselves with Bobby Lashley, becoming a new unstoppable trio. (Source: WWE)

My Review! God is Good

Going into this, I had no idea what to expect, as I had never heard anything from Montez, and didn’t even know he made music. Now, with the title ‘God is Good’ and the way some of songs are, he does mention his spirituality and recites a bible verse in one of the songs. But do not put this album in the religious category as he gives us more than that. The subject matter is very real and honest, and not “preachy” (no offense), if you know what I mean.

These 8 songs tell a story of his journey, his family, friends, kids, and wife. As of right now, after listening to it a few times, “Sinner’s Prayer” is one of my favorites, for sure, hitting my instantly. I also really like “Finally Free” and “Betrayed”. Don’t get me wrong, though, I love every single song; there are no skips for me. It was the vibe that I was looking for, in my current quest to continue discovering new music.

The album is currently available on Spotify and YouTube Music. Coming to Apple Music soon!

Love & WWE

Montez is married to a fellow WWE Superstar, Bianca Belair. They recently released a reality show on Hulu, following them on their journey as WWE Superstars making their way, and being husband and wife. I am a huge fan of both, so I am excited to watch this. From their fashion in the ring to their overall dope personalities, it’s hard to not want to watch them; and now we get a glimpse of their lives outside of the ring.
