Artist Spotlight Interview! G-Stampz

Happy Saturday! Get ready for a special artist spotlight and my very first official artist interview! This is an artist who I have mentioned before on this blog as well as on my social media. Hope you guys enjoy :)

To start… Tell the people a little about yourself… (Stage name, where you’re from, and what you do, etc…)

My name is G-Stampz, I’m from Jackson Ms and I do hip-hop music.

How would you describe your music?

I really just enjoy bringing a bunch of my influences together to create something unique. My goal is to do hip-hop and merge it with different musical genres and styles.

When and why did you get into music?

I’ve been into music all of my life since I was very young. It’s just something that I naturally gravitated to. I started out on the business end of things by doing events and getting known in my city for my label and mixtapes.

What kind of music were you into growing up?

In hip-hop, I loved a diverse group of artists but my favorites of all time are probably 2Pac and A Tribe Called Quest. But I also was very curious about other music genres and I listened to almost anything I could get my hands on whether it was pop, r&b, Jazz, rock or whatever.

Any favorite artists or music out right now?

I like Kendrick Lamar a lot, especially his album To Pimp A Butterfly.

Being from the South, we’ve had a lot of talent come from this region of the country… How do you feel about the state of music right now?

I think music is in a great state. There’s still a lot of different music to choose from if you are willing to look around stay open-minded.

Something that sticks out to me about you is how much you promote positivity… Was that always the goal?

I definitely want to reflect and speak on a lot of positive principles that have helped me change my life and find peace and overcome anger and a lot of the negative emotions that hold us back in life.

What’s next for G-Stampz? Any new projects you can talk about?

Music is a extension of a lot of the other things I’ll be doing but I’ll slowly be releasing more songs as I’m inspired to do them, but for now I’m focused on sharing “Celebrate Today” because I feel like the message behind the song is even bigger than the song. I’ve been really pleased with people’s reaction to the song in spite of it being very different than a lot of stuff on the radio. So I want to try to expand it and expose it to even more people.

Lastly, where can the people access your music?

Follow me on Instagram @gstampz and you’ll get updates everything and also news on my website and when it will officially launch.

You guys should really check him out! By now, you guys should know that I am here for positive music with a message and that’s what G-Stampz does. I hope you enjoyed this little interview. And a very special thank you to G-Stampz for taking the time to work with me and answer these questions.
