New Mixtape Alert! Chance the Rapper Brings Us to Church with Coloring Book

After his mind-blowing verse on the track “Ultralight Beam” on Kanye West’s Life of Pablo, Chance the Rapper keeps bringing us dope music. This week he has blessed us with his 3rd mixtape Coloring Book. You can download it on your usual mixtape sites like DatPiff, etc, and it is exclusively on Apple Music.

Coloring Book… The Review

Right off the bat with the first song “All We Got” featuring Kanye West and the Chicago Children’s Choir, the music is very reminiscent of Kanye’s Life of Pablo album that Chance is featured on. I make that comparison mainly because of the heavy church hymn/ choir influence which gives the music so much soul. It really is amazing and genius musically.

Chance’s Coloring Book is just that, an album full of bright and vibrant music and a variety of characters or features. Chance has Kanye West (of course), Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Jeremih, Young Thug, Justin Bieber, Jay Electronica, Future, to name a few.

Some of my favorite tracks are:

“Angels” featuring Saba which is the kind of up-beat, funky, turn up song. “Juke Jam” with Justin Bieber and Towkio is definitely one of my favorites on the album though. It has such a sexy and chill vibe to it. “How Great” featuring Jay Electronica and My cousin Nicole. This is THE church hymn song on the album and it is simply beautiful. It gives me chills listening to it. But then, the beat comes and Chance comes in. I am not a big fan of Future but I love their track “Smoke Break”. Chance’s rap-sing style on this particular song is really cute to me.

You can download it for free or listen to the whole mixtape on YouTube.
