My answer is Yes, Yes it was worth the wait! LOL… But seriously, I know this is my first review in a while but life happened (per usual) and kind of threw everything off. I’m definitely recovering and probably will be for a while. I may do a post talking about some of it but I’ll see. For now, though, I want to talk about this new album from 6lack called East Atlanta Love Letter.
6lack’s East Atlanta Love Letter… My Review
6lack’s last album Free 6lack was a classic and I’ve been a huge fan since then; especially after hearing “PRBLMS”. He gives off that whole edgy, dark, alternative R&B vibe. Even though R&B will always be a classic genre with lots of talented artists keeping it going, it’s nice to hear different versions. And with this new album, he keeps that vibe but better.
6lack’s voice sounds a bit smoother on this record, not as raspy as the last album (I’ll take either one to be honest). He also has more features this time around, such as Future, J.Cole, Offset (Migos), and Khalid. Of course my favorite collab and track is “Pretty Little Fears” with J.Cole. They actually just released the video yesterday, check it out below…
Some of my other favorite tracks are: “Unfair”, “Loaded Gun”, “Disconnect”, “Switch”, and “Stan”. There’s definitely nothing wrong with the rest of the songs, even if a couple of the features aren’t exactly my favorite people *cough, future and offset, cough* but they don’t change the quality of the song. The songs on the album will more than likely speak to another, more emotional, side of you so listen at your own risk if you get put in your feelings easily LOL. It is a great listen, though, and you guys should check out Free 6lack (if you haven’t yet) as well as this new album.
One last thing… 6lack is going on tour very soon and I am ecstatic because he will be coming to New Orleans in December, and it’s on a Saturday! I’m going to do everything i can to get to that show, believe that! If you guys are fans, check out his website and social media pages (links below) and check the tour dates. It is not that ‘tough’ to set up a blog, especially once you find the platform that works for you. You first need to find a blog platform and hosting. I currently use WordPress and the set up was very simple, especially being a beginner. I hope that helps 🙂
