Harry Edward Styles… Member of One Direction (currently on hiatus)… Why am I talking about him you ask?

Ever since Zayn Malik left the band last year, making the group continue to tour and promote themselves as a 4-piece, to eventually go on a hiatus this year, I have been more interested in One Direction , their music, and what the guys are about individually. Yes Zayn probably had the most powerful voice and gave them a certain “edge” but not many people gave the rest of the boys any credit. They were (are) all talented and their unique voices are what made the group what it was. We all know Zayn was a freak of nature when it came to singing and I did a post about Liam who could also pull off that R&B sound; but Harry deserves to be talked about as well. And just a little FYI, the album Made in the AM was actually really good J

In my eyes, Harry was the “rock star” of the group with the long hair, eccentric (and tight lol) clothes, dancing around like Mick Jagger. But what really got me, other than his voice, was how he treated fans and people in general. The media portrayed him as some sort of “ladies man”, “womanizer”, and “heartbreaker”. He could have been but if you look at videos of him, especially interviews, he was very humble and you could see it hurt him when those names describing him came up. Zayn would actually be the one to try to defend him. And of course after dating Taylor Swift and getting a song or two written about you then you must be a bad guy right? (being very sarcastic)… I’m just going to leave that there for now. I could be reading too much into it but he seems like a real genuine person and very respectful.

Harry has been in the news recently for cutting off his long curly locks, working on a movie, and the possibility of him releasing some solo music. Harry would probably be more Pop/ Indie Rock but his sound has always been unique and he really does have a great voice. I am going to support him, Liam, Niall, Louis, and Zayn regardless of what happens with them.

I just wish they would stop putting them against each other though. Whatever they may have going on between them, let them handle it. They are still young and learning a lot about themselves. Yes they are big public figures and have been since they were at least 17/18. They took this hiatus for a reason. And Zayn did what he did for a reason. As fans, especially, we should support that and respect them for it.

I guess this post turned into more of a rant than I had hoped but I really feel for these boys. But I honestly do wish them the best of luck. And whether or not the boys come back together (4 or all 5), I will pay to see One Direction and/or Zayn when they go on tour.
