Nostalgia & FOMO… A May Muzik Playback!

I may not post as much on here as I would like, but I will always make sure to come back in time to catch you guys up on what’s been going on in my world 🙂 So, here is a Muzik Playback for the month of May… A lot of nostalgia and FOMO.

Life Things…

It’s been 2 months since I started this new job and it’s still going well. I’m still in that adjustment period where I’m still learning about the role I’m playing on the team and getting to know all of the different personalities. Working from home for 2+ years to being back in an office, that is a decent drive away from home, will take some time. But so far, I like it.

I’m working in an industry I didn’t expect to still be in. But I truly do believe that things happen for a reason. The other things didn’t work out to make room for this. It’s crazy that I have to get used to ACTUALLY being appreciated for what I do and what I bring to the team.

Wrestling Fangirl Things!

Being a WWE fan has only gotten more chaotic in recent months. One of the most recent chaotic pieces of news, is that WrestleMania 42 (2026) has been taken out of New Orleans, Louisiana and being moved to another location (still TBD). What that news showed a lot of us, is that corporate greed ruins everything for everyone. They could care less about the fans who promote their “product”, most times, for free; it’s all money to them.

I had already booked my hotel, being that New Orleans is 2 hours from me, and this would be my first ever WrestleMania. Lucky for me, though, I have free cancellation and will get my money back, but that may not be the case for everyone. At the end of the day, it is only getting clearer that we, as fans, are getting pushed out. And we will have to decide if it’s worth sticking around and supporting.

As a consolation, they are bringing their Money in the Bank event to New Orleans, August 29th 2026, my birthday weekend. But being a Louisiana native, that couldn’t be worse timing. It’s the peak of hurricane season and the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. But do either of the parties involved think about that, of course not.

Nostalgia and More FOMO 🙁

As I mentioned above, WrestleMania won’t be in New Orleans next year. One of the main reasons that I am even debating on traveling further for this, is that this may be one of the last chances I have to see certain wrestlers who are getting older and looking at retiring soon. Then you have all the K-Pop tours being announced, coming to Texas, and falling on the weekend. But, again, I need to figure out what makes sense.

I would love to take a weekend trip sometime soon, just to get away. That mixed with coming back to a full work week can be a bit much. Plus, Monsta X is back as a full group, so we are sensing a world tour announcement, hopefully soon. They are my priority when it comes to concerts.

Final Thoughts!

Getting back into wrestling for the last couple of years has made me look at everything that I/ we consume as fans, and how we interact with those things. I am grateful for the other fans that I have met because of those interests, but at the same time, it hurts to acknowledge how much they really don’t care about us. I don’t think we expect them to, but to at least not try to play us for stupid because we are into what we are into. Sure, a lot of us are hanging on due to nostalgia and the need for a distraction from whatever our world is becoming, but once we’re done, we’re done.
