I’m a day late with this one but I wanted to make sure that this particular review was honest and of course fun to read being that it’s about my babies Mindless Behavior 🙂
I have been a fan of Mindless Behavior and their music pretty much since one of their earlier singles, “Mrs. Right”, and there were 4 members. The only original member left is Princeton – cute curly fro and killer dance moves. They were so young then and their voices reflected it. Their albums #1 Girl and All Around the World were great but catered to a much younger audience at the time. Now, don’t get me wrong, they had older fans into them too, including myself. But since their debut as MB including new members Mike and EJ, their sound is so much more mature and dare I say… Sexual (whispering that last part LOL).
Seeing this “grown” side of Mindless Behavior is a lot to take in, especially since I am so used to seeing Princeton just so young. The first time I listened to this new album, though, #OfficialMBMusic I didn’t know how to take it because I kind of still see them as babies and I was feeling like maybe I am too outside of the age group for this.
But the more I listened to it, the more I was like, “Okay… I see you boys!” you know? And I definitely have my favorites…
#IWantDat featuring Problem and Bad Lucc – Of course this is still one of my favorites. It’s such a hype party, dance song. The video is dope, the boys (and their girl dancers killed the dancing on this one) and it was the perfect first impression of the album.
#Blur just has that chill, club vibe and their voices on this track is so different but flows perfectly with the beat.
#OverNightBag is of course the sexy song on the album. It should speak for itself but if it doesn’t then watch this video… (Also, Prince… You did your thing baby 😉 ) Also, you guys should check out some their fans’ reaction videos for this because it is just awesome!
Now, #1UCall, I am actually really proud of the boys for this one. This is that grown and sexy song that I feel the older R&B crowd can appreciate. This shows off their maturity, especially with their vocals. The music has classic old-school R&B rhythms. I really love this one!
Another nice R&B track, #SongCry is something I feel that the younger and older fans can feel. It has such a smooth vibe to it. It’s definitely not a sappy love song but it’s a real relationship/ moving on type song. Another great one for sure!
Overall, it’s a great record. I honestly had no idea what to expect from this new MB but I’m feeling it. And it’s good to see that they are still all about their fans. A lot of artists tend to forget who got them where they are. The people who support them and sometimes have to save up money to buy CDs, downloads, and concert tickets. The boys show their fans so much love and it’s a beautiful thing.
Keep doing your thing boys!
