July Muzik Playback!

I honestly don’t have a lot of things to update you guys on from July 🙁 I’ve still been in the mode of listening to “older” music and my comfort playlists. Not to say that I haven’t been enjoying any of the new music that’s been dropping. I do mention some of those new favorites below, and hopefully you’ll find some new favorites for yourself, as well!

New Music!

Even though I have still been on this Highlight/ Lee Gikwang kick, with some Nostalgic things sprinkled in, I have been making time to check out a lot of the new releases from this month. Some of them surprised me but in the best way.

K-Pop/ K- Hip Hop Favs!

My Bias, Ju-Ne from iKON, dropped his first solo EP ‘Bruise’. It’s a mix of Pop/ Rock and fits his raspier tone so well. I am always excited when group members get to explore the music they want to make more.

B.A.P is back, promoting currently as BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON, for their ‘Farewell’ comeback with a new single. I have been loving all of the teasers, and the documentary on Youtube. The album drops August 8th!

Stray Kids is back with new music as well, also having an original song on the soundtrack for the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Watching their promotions for this has been fun, especially since I hadn’t been keeping up with them as much prior to now.

Then we have a new song from YUNGIN, BM (from KARD), and Bobby (from iKON). The excitement that I felt seeing two of my favorite people, BM and Bobby, listed on the same song was so real! Even though Bobby had left for enlistment by the time they did this video, it was still cool to see BM do his thing.

Alternative/ Rock Favs

Japanese Rock group ONE OK ROCK is back with a new single “Delusion: All”. I am always impressed with the vocals on their songs.

Another favorite Alt Rock group of mine, Sleep Theory released their new single “Stuck In My Head”.

And something I was not expecting, Rock group Magnolia Park dropped a collab with Disney, for a soundtrack of sorts (LOL), and they re-made “I2I” from A Goofy Movie, originally sung by the character Powerline aka Tevin Campbell. This drop made my whole week to be honest 🙂

Series Finished!

I finally finished the 2 series I was binging. It took me longer than it typically would because I was putting off finishing them for some reason (smh). But I was not disappointed in either of them and I might even re-watch them at some point. But I know that I have a full queue that I need to catch up on, so maybe later.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive (The Review That Was Never Posted)

I would have never thought that I would be an interested in Formula 1 as I am now. And it is not just because of the incredible Lewis Hamilton, even though he is the reason I started watching all of this. But the more I watch the series and the actual racing content, the more I am understanding the sport itself and becoming fans of other drivers. Lewis, of course, stood out to me because he does and is so much more than racing.

This feels like so much more than a “Docuseries”. There’s non-stop drama and action. It’s an extreme sport so, obviously, but the racers and their different personalities is what really makes it. There are so many different moving parts and it’s interesting to watch. Plus, you get to see some of the Politics within the sports especially with so much money that’s at stake.

I am looking forward to continuing to getting into this sport. They do have races here in the states so I would love to experience at least 1 in my lifetime. I know that it doesn’t compare to their overseas races, but I’ll take what I can get right now lol. This year would be ideal since it’s Lewis’ last year with Mercedes but the way things are looking for him with his soon to be former team, I may wait to see him in that Ferrari red next year.

A Killer Paradox

I’ve already done a full review on this so check out the link below 🙂

A Killer Paradox… A Thrilling K-Drama Review!

Therapy Gem!

I am still actively going to therapy, at least once a month. It has helped me so much, and even though it’s hard and I must face some hard truths about myself, I am so grateful for the healing that I am able to do because of it. The fact that I have an amazing black woman as my therapist makes all of this so great. And during one of our discussions, she hit me with this gem…

“Having many different interests in self-care…”

Apparently, when we have been something traumatic in our lives, we can pull from those interests to get what we need, in that moment. It helps us cope and find peace and joy, in some way. I have been so invested in music (including K-Pop, P-Pop, J-Pop), WWE, and Formula 1 racing, recently. Each of those interests came into my life when I needed it the most, and I have no regrets.

I enjoy all of that and enjoy talking about it, and sharing it with my social media community, but I understand how it can be a lot content-wise. I guess I’m supposed to choose a niche but I’ve been struggling to decide what to focus on. I may just go back to music, which is something I’ve always done and the base of my platform.
