My 1st WWE Smackdown in New Orleans!

On Friday February 21st, my boyfriend and I attended WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown in New Orleans, Louisiana. We live about 2 hours from the city, and this was our second time attending a WWE event in NOLA. You can check out my YouTube video below for more about the show and our experience…

I was the most excited to see Jimmy Uso, who went up against Drew McIntyre (my least favorite person right now). The Rock being there did shake things up a bit, and we did lose out on a chance to see Naomi go up against Liv Morgan. But we did get to see Solo Sikoa tag with Jacob Fatu against Damian Priest and Braun Strowman. I am a fan of all 4 of those men so that was a highlight for me.

One of the biggest things that happened was that appearance from The Rock, who was there to announce that WrestleMania will be coming back to New Orleans April 11-12th 2026. He also made sure to add a layer of confusion to this current storyline with Cody lol. But when it comes to that WrestleMania announcement, you already know I’m plotting out how I can make this happen. I have a whole year, but things come at us fast, so I want to do everything I can to be prepared for this.

Final Thoughts!

The more I kind of separate myself from the online wrestling community, the more I see how different it is as compared to being with fans at Live events. Now, I am NOT saying that one group of fans is better than the other, especially when it comes to the Louisiana wrestling crowd. These events can be expensive, so even the most diehard wrestling fans may not be able to experience the live shows. But I will say that a lot of the toxic side of the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) does not reflect who is attending the show.

I am very thankful for the people I have met because of this renewed love of wrestling. Never did I think I’d be building my social media platform on my love of wrestling, but here we are. And it’s even crazier that it all came back to me when I was at a very low point in my life and it became my escape. Creating and posting anything on social media is not easy, and you won’t always get a lot of support or positive comments, but if you love what you do, and aren’t hurting anyone, then keep going; your people will find you.
