Check out my latest WWE Recap video, now Live on my YouTube channel! I am sharing some of my favorite moments, as well as my thoughts, on this past Smackdown episode and the Royal Rumble PLE that followed on that Saturday.
Words cannot express how happy I am for Jey Uso. I have mentioned Jey (and Jimmy) in most of my WWE videos and posts since getting back into all of this. Unfortunately, there are a good number of people who don’t feel the same way. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and we aren’t going to like the same wrestlers.
Some of the discourse taking place right now, though, is unnecessary. They are being rude and disrespectful to Jey and his fans, all because they think someone else (aka their favorite wrestler) should’ve won. There is a lot of hypocrisy and fake outrage happening over Jey’s win, as well as Charlotte Flair’s win in the women’s Rumble match. I enjoyed the show and again, am so glad that I spent less time on my phone, so I could truly watch everything.
Final Thoughts!
It’s how much I have seen this kind of behavior in just about every fan group I have been a part of, in some way. Whether you’re a fan of music, anime, sports, etc.… there are always fans who go after everyone when they don’t get what they want… Don’t get the attention that they want. But, in most cases, they will still complain about something even when they do get what they want. Some people just like to complain and make other people miserable in the process.
I refuse to sit in all this negativity or add to it. And I will not let the toxicity get to me or run me away. It’s just really disappointing to see, but this could be a whole other blog post. Fandom has changed a lot, and not for the better. But even with all of that, I still enjoy being a fan of all of things I am a fan of; as it’s one of the few things getting me through this thing called life.
