Okay, so, for today, I wanted to (re)do this post, making sure that I didn’t forget to talk about the other half of duo Kalin & Myles. I’ve already talked about Kalin White and his solo project but this week I want to talk about Myles Parrish.
Myles is about 24 right now, and was also born and raised in the Bay Area in California. Like I had mentioned before, in my post about Kalin, the duo split earlier this year after leaving their record label. They decided to venture out on their own and so far both of them have dropped some new (solo) music.
To be honest, I really wanted to talk about Myles after hearing his song “Don’t Feel the Same”. It sounds like he’s talking about the break up and his relationship with Kalin. He even says “… And I ain’t write this as a diss song… I’m just trying to figure out exactly where we went wrong…”. Now, musically and composition-wise it’s amazing, and it really makes you feel what he’s feeling.
While a part of the duo, Myles made beats, was the rapper, and wasn’t a bad dancer either. He also would play guitar when they did acoustic performances. The girls loved him (and I can’t blame them). He has definitely surprised and impressed me with the older music as well as his new projects.
I have definitely been jamming his new song “Mobbin'” (featuring Phanom) since he released it last week. It is such the Bay Area song and you can’t help but sway and dance to it. I really am falling back in love with that Cali/ Bay Area sound. I’m already a big fan of artists from that area (i.e E-40, Too Short, G-Eazy, Sage the Gemini and now Kalin, Myles, and the HBK Gang)… There is just something about them and their sound that makes you want to be apart of that movement. If you want to know more just check them out on ITunes/ Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and Soundcloud…
I really do hope that both of the boys find success in their new endeavors and can avoid any unnecessary drama. They are both super talented and can only get better from here. I look forward to seeing what else they have in store for us. And maybe they will make some new fans along the way. I am also looking forward to catching them both live one day while they do their solo projects.
Good Luck Boys! I’m rooting for you both!
