It’s Monday so you know what that means! It’s time for my MCM (Music Crush Monday) and I want to talk about G-Eazy and his most recent album When It’s Dark Out.
For the longest time, I knew who he was but wasn’t listening to him much. When his album When It’s Dark Out was released at the end of last year (2015) I decided to check it out out of curiosity; especially after hearing and loving his single “You Got Me” on the radio a lot. I was impressed and fell in love with the vibe of the whole album. That Oakland/ Cali swag and lingo is cool as hell to me. It really does go hard on an album like this.
My Review!
G-Eazy raps about many different topics and the tempo switches up but keeps that chill, Cali vibe throughout. I have a lot of favorites on this album. Some of them are: “Me, Myself, & I”, “Drifting (ft. Chris Brown & Tory Lanez)”, “Some Kind of Drug (Ft. Marc E. Bassy)”, and “Think About You (ft. Quin)”.
Here is the video for “Me, Myself, & I”…
I really didn’t know what to expect from G-Eazy or this album. But I was pleasantly surprised. I listen to it all the time, especially when I just want to chill out and be laid back. I definitely encourage you guys to check out this album, along with his other albums Must Be Nice (2012) and These Things Happen (2014).
