Music Review! Blue Neighborhood… YOUTHful Music

Since subscribing to Apple Music, I have been able to check out a lot of music that I may or not have checked out if I didn’t have a chance to preview it first. So far, I have found a lot of new favorites because of this.

Today, after seeing a few people I follow on Twitter & Instagram talk about Troye Sivan, I decided to check him out…

I listened to his most recent album “Blue Neighborhood” that was released in December 2015. I fell in love right away. It’s Pop with a little Soul sprinkled in. It’s not your typical up-beat album, though there are some. It has a calmer, more chill vibe and I guess that’s just the mood I was in today. But I love it. Though he is just 20 years old, you can hear the old soul in his music.

After checking out that album and his earlier release “TRXYE” from 2014, I decided to do a little research.

Troye was born in South Africa but grew up in Australia. He is a rising actor, singer, songwriter, and a very popular YouTuber.

He was even in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, playing a young Logan aka Wolverine (Great movie by the way… Yes I am a Comic Book Nerd & Proud!)

The young pop star was even featured on the January cover of Rolling Stone, where he opened up about a number of personal topics. * Check out the full article and more at www.rollingstone.com*

But probably one of the more exciting things to happen to Troye was his recent performance of his song “Youth” on Ellen Degeneres’ show.

This performance, in my eyes, shows that everything that makes him different and unique, makes him that much more special. #MusicCrushMonday
