MCM (Throwback Edition)! The Backstreet Boys

Happy Monday! Today is TRULY a Music Crush Monday for me. So… Lately I have been in full boyband fan-girl mode. And I’ve been seeing a lot of my favorite groups from the 90’s and 00’s all over social media because they are having reunions and doing these Throwback to the 90’s tours (which I probably won’t be able to go to which SUCKS!). And in the case of the Backstreet Boys, they are doing a cruise which looks awesome.

Seeing all of that, including seeing old fans reuniting with their favorite groups as an adult made me want to pull out the old BSB albums. And even though I was probably a larger Nsync fan back in the day, I was a fan of the Backstreet Boys too and my Nsync friends hated that but all of their music was good. And BSB have actually stuck together and continue to make appearances as a group whereas we are still waiting on that Nsync reunion. So…

The Backstreet Boys were another boyband formed in Orlando, FL back in 1993. The members are: Howie D., Nick Carter, AJ Mclean, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell (Top Picture from Left to Right).

I remember seeing the video for “As Long As You Love Me” and I think that’s what got me hooked for real. I still love that song. And being that we are on the topic of boybands, you know I had a favorite member. My favorite was Kevin but as I got older, AJ worked his way up for me. Of course I loved them all for the different voices and personalities they each brought but Kevin and AJ stood out for me.

I do not want to compare them to any other group because they were 1 of 2 groups that were just everything for me at the time. I had all of their albums (listed below)…

It’s honestly nice to see the boyband trend is kind of coming back even though things have changed so much in music. For those of you who were never and still aren’t into the whole boyband thing, it’s more than just screaming pre-teens who pray for their chance to marry their favorite member lol. For me and a lot of other fans, they inspired us and made us feel better about certain situations we may have been dealing with. They took us away from a harsh reality for a while and into this beautiful world where we could be who and what we wanted. We could be ourselves and meet new people who were similar to us, and not be judged. It was and still can be an awesome feeling.

I honestly hope I can catch the Backstreet Boys in concert before they decide to give it all up for good. I’m looking forward to it and you guys will be the first to know if that happens!
