Fatal Love, the 3rd Full Album from Monsta X!

*Reaction Update

I know that I had already posted about Monsta X’s recent comeback and album Fatal Love, and included some other artists. But since its release, I have listened to it so many more times and have watched pretty much every last music show performance for this particular comeback. Also, I have seen the term “Beast Idol” come back out when referring to Monsta X, which is a wonderful thing. This latest comeback has definitely put them back into that conversation, being that this album shows off their powerful, sometimes dark, themes and hard-hitting choreography.

Personally, I feel that they have always done things that have separated them from the others, while still paying homage to the Idols that came before them, especially when it comes to “Beast Idols”. Unfortunately, when it comes to award shows and views, they are still far behind other groups. They are under a smaller record label, with a smaller fanbase (by comparison), and honestly, not as much promotion as other groups. All of that does not make them less deserving of success, accolades, and support from others.

And I have to say how proud I am of them for getting two wins this past week from a couple of music shows for “Love Killa”. Their last comeback didn’t have this much excitement, unfortunately. But these wins are special, even if they couldn’t really celebrate it with their Monbebes like they’re accustomed to (pre-pandemic). But I am so proud of them and everything that they are and continue to be 🙂

My Review of Fatal Love and the “Love Killa” Music Video!

The album is here & the video for the title track “Love Killa” came out last night! Let’s start with this video… OMG! The boys look so sexy for this one and the dance moves had me rewinding a few parts. All of their looks for this comeback and this video have been EVERYTHING & more. The guys were very involved on this album as well. I.M. & Joohoney participated in a lot of the writing/ producing, and Hyungwon even participated in the track “Nobody Else”.

*And Honey dressed as the Joker from Batman, um, yes please! ;)*

Of course, I love every single song and am in love with the overall theme. Other than “Love Killa”, I am seriously loving “Last Carnival” with its opening haunting melodies, overall R&B sound, and the addicting hook. Watching them perform “BEASTMODE” and “Sorry Not Sorry” recently has brought new life to those songs for me. A song that kind of caught me off guard was probably “Guess Who” because of its unique sound, but still full of our rapline’s hard-hitting verses and smooth vocals provided by our main vocalists.

Final Thoughts!

I never want to make this blog a “fan page” dedicated to one artist. When it comes to Monsta X, I will always have a special place in my heart for them, especially when it comes to K-Pop. They were the reason I knew what having a Bias and a Bias group/ Ultimate group was. I don’t care what other artists that I like in K-Pop, Monsta X will always be the ones I will get the most excited for.
