August Playlist (& Catching up with some of my Favs)!

Happy Monday! It’s August, summer is almost over, and it’s been too long since I shared a playlist with you guys. I’ve been keeping up with my own Apple Music & Spotify playlists, full of a ton of songs that I’ve discovered since Summer basically started (if not before that). But I want to focus on what my Favs have been up to lately. I will see how you guys react to these tracks then see from there if I will keep sharing posts like this…

Luke Christopher – “Trouble”

Can I just start by saying how happy I am that Luke Christopher is back with new music? 🙂 So much has happened since he dropped the song too, a lot of things that remind me why I (we) love him so much. But I will start with this new song, “Trouble”… It’s a slower, mellow track. He sounds the same but the vibe has changed a bit, but it’s not a bad thing.

So, other than the new song that’s supposed to start a whole new Luke Christopher “era” of music (let me be dramatic LOL), called the Renaissance, he teased possible merchandise based off of the “Trouble” cover art which I am 100% here for! He got a plaque for “Lot to Learn” for 200 Million Streams worldwide; I’m so proud of our boy! He’s been posting on social media & even went live on IG while in the studio, to tease more music. I keep replaying the fact that he kept saying how much he missed us (his fans). I feel like a goober being like “We missed you more!” but it’s true, though 🙂

Hoodie Allen – “Wasting All My Time” & “Operation”

I feel like I have a lot to say about Hoodie right now LOL. Let’s talk about these songs first, though… I love them both. “Wasting All My Time” is a little more addictive and catchy but “Operation” has more substance to it so it’s my obvious favorite. And we will probably get some more music before his project comes out, so I am excited about that. Now, let’s talk about tour, shall we?

So, Hoodie went live on Instagram to talk about new music and this upcoming tour. I was super excited when he said that it was going to smaller venues and more interactive. The tour dates came out the next day and guess what, NO New Orleans, AGAIN! He is coming back to Houston but it’s on a freaking Wednesday and I would have to take off from work; and I don’t know if it’ll be worth it. The songs are still a Bop, though 🙂

Gianni & Kyle – “5 Shots”

I heard about these 2 guys from Hoodie Allen’s Instagram Live. Gianni and Kyle are one of his opening acts for this new tour, and I really like them; especially their new song “5 Shots”. The next day I looked them up and caught up on their music, and I’m digging the vibe that they have. It would be fun to see them do their thing live but I’ll have to see if I can even attempt to make that trip happen…

JYDN – “Life Lessons”

These next two guys right here, I am really looking forward to what they have coming up next. The R&B that has come out of Ottawa is crazy and I’m excited for it. Now, JYDN definitely got me with this track; not sure what it was, but I just immediately fell for this song. His voice impresses me with every song, so I am always ready for new music 🙂

Jeff Sanon – “This Luv”

One of the first things that sticks out to me about this song is that he sampled Omarion’s song “I’m Tryna” from his debut solo album. That was one of my favorite songs out at that time so you know when I heard that, I couldn’t help but to smile. Jeff’s voice is so smooth too. I definitely love these types of “love songs” from him 🙂

Mic Lowry –

I know that I haven’t really been talking about these guys much lately, but trust I am still watching them. They still post amazing covers on their social media pages and Youtube, while also doing fun Q&A sessions on Twitter with each member LOL. And I believe that they will be releasing a live album, unless I misunderstood that, but you should still check them out anyway 🙂

Myles Parrish – “GO”

Yes I still keep up with Myles and his whole Cali swag is still a whole mood. If his other music doesn’t get you moving, then his latest song “Go” most definitely will. The video matches that energy and takes it to the Bay Area (of course). Meeting him will always be in my mind; he was so sweet and that fact that he noticed me jamming in the front row, was just, everything 🙂
