Music Review! Myles Parrish Takes Us to Where It All Started with New Project Vomac!

Hey guys! I hope you have been enjoying some of my latest blog posts, introducing you to some newer artists who I have been enjoying. Today is not too different but I will be talking about someone that I have mentioned before. I haven’t talked about him much before now but since he has a new project out, I figured now would be a good time to talk about him and his music. I hope you guys keep reading to learn about Myles Parrish…

Getting You Re-Familiar with Myles

So, Myles Parrish is a 24 year old rapper/ songwriter/ producer/ hyphy dancer (LOL) out of the Bay Area out in California. He first really popped out on the scene when he was a part of a duo with Kalin White (a favorite of mine who I have mentioned a lot in other posts). They had a pretty strong following on Vine (RIP) and their social media pages. They interacted with fans, also known as the KAM FAM, and toured the country.

The two separated in March of 2016, after leaving their current record label, and deciding to pursue separate careers. I got on that train late but loved them together. But with the age difference and almost opposite personalities, it’s understandable that it just didn’t work out. The great thing is that they have been doing awesome separately and the music that they have released reflects them even more than before.

Vomac… My Review

Myles released this latest project/ mixtape called Vomac back in May of this year. I hate that I am so late posting about it but this year has been crazy and keeping up with who/ what to write about has been crazier. But, I have been listening to it a lot the last couple of weeks and I still love Myles so much. His music is always so positive and uplifting; makes you want to get up and dance.

The album starts with an intro titled “Vomac” which is mainly him explaining what it means to him. Then it goes into just what I expected from Myles, a hyphy- @ss song and I love it! He talks about his amazing fans and how much he loves being on the road. Once we get some of the hype out of the way, we get to some of his more chill but super feel-good tracks including “Wave” featuring Lost Boy, “Cut A Rug”, and “Tommy Bahama”.

Now, onto a song that’s a little more serious but definitely needed right now called “Sirens” where Myles talks about what’s been going on in our world as of late. It has a cute little acoustic guitar or ukulele behind simple lyrics. This song also has a feature from Lost Boy. But my favorite part of this song is basically the hook where Lost Boy says “We need a little more love and a little less sirens…”

Another favorite song of mine is “Wherever You Are” which is the cutest love song I’ve heard in a while. And I’m pretty sure that it’s about his current girlfriend Tia; These two are super adorable together by the way. I also love the song “Sunday Afternoon” where he talks about being home with his family, and mentions his mom a lot who is a huge support system in his life, and has been. Every song has such a positive, feel-good vibe to it, showcasing Myles’ musicality and personality (didn’t mean to rhyme but it sounds good, right? LOL).

The Hype Tour!

Lastly, let’s talk about this insane tour that he’s about to go on… The Hype Tour features Hoodie Allen, the headliner, Myles, and my Favorite, who I talk about damn near 24/7, Luke Christopher! I have tickets to the Houston, Texas show in November and I cannot begin to explain how excited I am. I love Houston and haven’t been in a while, my baby cousin and other family are out there, I get to see and experience Hoodie, Myles, and Luke LIVE for the first time. I’ve been a fan of all 3 so I am definitely excited about this.

Getting the chance to Fangirl over people I have followed for a while (especially Luke), is such an awesome experience. I can’t wait to go to the show and tell you guys about it afterwards. I am also hoping to meet some of them, if not all them while I’m there. And I’m kind of hoping to see Luke’s good friend/ photographer/ videographer/ badass in general Josh Sikema who is touring with them.

Final Thoughts!

Doing this post definitely has me excited about this concert. It’s only a little over a month away. I may need to start planning that trip because I have no idea how long I want to stay out there or who I’m even bringing with me. I have a chance to stay with my baby cousin which would be perfect but that’s about it right now. All I do know is that this little trip is needed. Things were already rough but this last month or so made me want to just run away and not turn back.

At least it’s going to be more than a nice little road trip (4-5 hours maybe). I’m going to a concert, one of my favorite things to experience, and I get to see some of my Faves. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope that it will give me the inspiration and the push I need to get through the rest of the year, at least. I also plan on doing a fun post about Hoodie soon since he has a new album on the way; so be on the lookout for that 🙂
