Frank Ocean: Finally! (Part 2)

I know the day is almost over but I hope you had a great Hump Day 🙂

It took me a while to really sit and watch Frank’s music video for “Nikes” and his Visual Album for Endless but I think I finally have a real opinion about it to share with you guys.

Let’s start with the “visual” for Endless. It’s basically a simple black and white colored video of Frank in some sort of warehouse. He’s building something that ends up being a staircase with no end it seems… Get it? Endless staircase… Even though I really do like this music for this album, I could’ve done without this visual for it. I feel like it took away from the music. I spent so much time watching Frank, trying to figure out what he was doing that I would lose focus on the music that was playing. I mean, I think I get what he’s trying to do but I overall I am not in love with this particular visual concept. He still makes you think though.

As for his music video for “Nikes” from his other album Blond, I love the song and the overall aesthetic for the video, even if it is a bit all over the place. And there are a lot of naked bodies and glitter. But I understand that Frank Ocean is a very unique individual and artist so his music is going to reflect that. He will always be a musical genius to me.

I can honestly say that I much rather Blond than Endless but I respect him for both of them. The amount of artistry that Frank has is crazy. The vibe is pretty similar for both albums. Maybe the visual for Endless threw it off for me. I’ll listen to it more without the video and see if my mind changes.

For those of you who may or may not be a fan of Frank already, you should definitely check out both of these albums. Go into it with an open mind be ready to have your mind blown.

Check them out and let me know what you think!
